If you are a fan of the Ducati SuperSport, here’s some good news. Italian motorcycle brand Ducati has announced that the 2021 Ducati SuperSport 950 is in the pipeline. Already, the mass production of the SuperSport 950 S model has started. In this article, find out what this year’s version brings to the table and if it is worth the money.
There are two versions; the standard and the S model. The base model is available in red only while the S variant is available in Ducati Red and Arctic White Silk. Besides colours, the standard model comes with 48mm Öhlins fork and Öhlins shock while the S model comes with 43mm Marzocchi fork and Sachs shock.
One of the biggest changes to this model is the new intuitive 4.3-inch TFT display, which is far clearer than the predecessor. The headlights have also been redesigned and take a V-shaped curve. They have been bracketed by a new air intake design optimised for efficient heat management. Another upgrade is the Bosch six-axis IMU electronic package that consists of Bosch’s revolutionary cornering ABS. Other upgrades worth mentioning include hydraulic clutch control, up/down quickshifter and three ride modes.
The 2021 SuperSport 950 comes with the same 937cc Testastretta 11° engine. According to the manufacturer, this engine delivers a whopping 110hp at 9000 RPM. Interestingly, this year’s version is Euro 5 compliant courtesy of several tweaks in the ECU and the exhaust system. Just like the predecessor, the SuperSport 950 is liquid-cooled. The engine is complemented by a six-speed transmission with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) and up/down EVO.
The Ducati SuperSport 950 will be available on the market sometime from March. The price starts at £12,295 for the base model while the S variant’s price goes up to £14,095.
